Jan 2020. If you love being outside then come inside and see my new work. In June 2019 I completed the Mason Jar project and now am being drawn more deeply into the forest and plan to incorporate some of the new discoveries about the forest environment in my work. Still percolating, so check back. Happy New Year!
June 28, 2015 I have recently received some wonderful emails and have permission to share them. Below from man who purchased a painting in about 1991 and here from a student at UVic.
"I'm sure you're not expecting a reply to your newsletter but I thought I'd take advantage of this opportunity to thank for the UVic Cont. studies course you offered last Jan. Just wanted you to know that I appreciated the weekend format. For me the idea of having a 'tool kit' of techniques and inspiration to take home and play with on my own is hugely appealing. No, I haven't carried through with painting at home as we are improving the garden and doing a house reno - but I intend to. I know I need a calm, clutterfree, smoothly functioning environment to fall back on before moving into the potential chaos and mess of finding my way through a myriad of ideas. Perhaps overhanging but I find I am one of those people who can see a myriad of possibilities, and I mention this as your workshop and it's format really helped to set boundaries that prevent feeling overwhelmed by all the wonderful enticing possibilities that are out there.
I also appreciated the relaxed manner in which you conducted your weekend course. It felt that basic essential info was covered, and we had sufficient time to delve into our 'assignments' while not feeling pushed or rushed and still knowing that there is far more to learn and hopefully master - but all in good time, and enjoy each step of the journey.
So that's my rather long-winded way of saying Thank You for a great educational weekend, and sending you best wishes for a happy and successful summer.
